    General and Family Dentistry

Dental checkups are not only important to keep your teeth clean, but also for early detection of serious health issues. During a routine visit to CornerStone Dental, we’ll take x-rays and examine your teeth for any signs of infection or decay. Our dental hygiene team will provide cleanings based upon your needs, and fluoride treatments to help maintain and improve your oral health.

We welcome patients of all ages, so your entire family can receive excellent dental care in a comfortable, caring environment.

    Crowns and Bridges

Both crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that are cemented onto existing teeth or dental implants. A dental crown is placed over an existing tooth to restore its strength, shape, and/or size, in addition to improve its appearance. Crowns are used to cover damaged teeth, while bridges are used to provide a prosthetic tooth in places where teeth may be missing.

Bridges can be used to restore multiple missing teeth in a row. Alternatives to bridges include removable partial dentures or dental implants. Our team of professionals will provide you all treatment options and help guide you in making a decision that is right for you.

    Periodontal Therapy

More than half of American adults have some stage of periodontal disease. Scaling and root planing is a non-surgical procedure performed by a dentist or registered dental hygienist to help stop the progression of the disease. A scaling and root planing procedure is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus from deep periodontal pockets and to remove bacterial toxins.

Depending on the progression of periodontal disease, our dental hygiene department may recommend this treatment to be performed in more than one office visit.

After this treatment, you will be encouraged to visit our office more than twice a year to maintain the health of your gums and to closely monitor the status of your oral tissues. More frequent visits are needed to ensure the disease process is stable and further progression is kept to a minimum.

    Invisalign®

Dr. Karen Roberts is a certified Invisalign® provider. If you’re interested in clear braces, the first step is to visit our office to determine if Invisalign® is right for you. If the dentist feels that you are a candidate for Invisalign®, we will take x-rays and pictures of your teeth, as well as dental impressions.
These components are used by Invisalign® to create a 3-D image of your teeth. We will present you with treatment plan options for straighter teeth. This resulting plan will determine the number of aligners needed to achieve your desired results.

    Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a tool used by dentists to examine your mouth in great detail. The camera looks like an oversized pen, and takes high-resolution images of a patient’s mouth which are then projected onto a monitor.

When we recommend dental treatment, we want our patients to understand why. The images from the intraoral camera allow us to show areas of concern up-close. The magnified pictures also help us to detect problems early, so we can treat patients before their condition becomes more serious and costly.

    CAD-CAM

We use computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, or CAD/CAM technology to improve the design and creation of some dental restorations, including crowns. This technology allows us to make crowns that fit more precisely and can be delivered to our patients in less time. Depending on the material chosen for crown fabrication by your doctor, for some cases we can make the final crown restoration in one visit, here in our office.

    Cosmetic Dentistry and Tooth Whitening

There are many reasons a person may choose cosmetic dental procedures. For many, a healthy beautiful smile portrays confidence. For others, cosmetic procedures can improve overall health.
The dentists at CornerStone Dental provide a number of treatments that will help you look good and feel good too. Dental implants. crowns, veneers and teeth whitening are some of the common procedures used in cosmetic dentistry.

From a health perspective, cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign®, can help fix tooth misalignment, which can reduce tooth decay and TMJ disorders. Misalignment of teeth can also cause headaches and contribute to periodontal disease. Correcting these issues can have a significant impact on a patients’ health and well-being.

    Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants are an alternative to a bridge when replacing missing teeth. The procedure is performed in two stages. First, either an Oral Surgeon or a Periodontist will place the post that anchors the restoration to your bone. Next, the placement of the abutment and crown is performed at CornerStone Dental.

A patient’s medical condition and bone health is taken into consideration to determine if implant dentistry it the best option. Our doctors and team will advise which form for tooth replacement is right for you.

    Complete and Partial Dentures

Removable complete and partial dentures consist of prosthetic teeth attached to gum-colored bases. In some cases, a removable partial denture is made to attach to your natural teeth with clasps or precision attachments.

If you are missing many teeth and feel that dentures may be an option for you, visit our office so we can help assess the treatments that are available for you.

    TMJ treatments

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, or TMD, is a group of conditions that cause dysfunction in the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint—TMJ) and the muscles that control its movement. Dr. Karen Roberts utilizes different techniques to treat this condition, like talon splints or occlusal guards. If you’re concerned that you may be suffering from TMJ, please schedule an appointment so we can evaluate your condition and make recommendations to help.

    Digital Radiography

Digital radiography is x-ray imaging that uses digital sensors instead of traditional photographic film. There is no need to chemically process the film, which is much more time-efficient and economical. Best of all, digital radiography significantly minimizes radiation exposure. The images can be digitally transferred or linked to your patient profile within our dental software system.
